I have liked the song "Cheerings from the other side" since I first heard it on internet radio.
The guitar at the beginning, the slow build-up at the beginning, the singing. Somehow it sounds like Elvis singing.
I could describe it better in German. :-)
Favorite track: Cheerings From The Other Side.
Influenced by the eurodance anthems of the 90s, combined with the gloomy existentialism of dark wave, Elvis de Sade musically represent excess and degeneration—like their namesakes, pop culture tragedy Elvis Presley and philosopher of perversion Marquis de Sade.
Elvis de Sade was formed in Munich in 2017. The music was composed and arranged by Andreas Rentz, the lyrics were penned by singer Leo Schild. Live, Elvis de Sade are supported by Felix Hölter on bass and Cosima Weiske on synthesizer.
Following their first demo in 2018, Elvis de Sade now present their EP, ”Angelus Novus,” in which a collage of samples, noise, technoid beats, and transcendent pop melodies express the melancholy of an age of endless possibilities and desires.
"Five great songs that create a darkly beautiful atmosphere." (Schwarzes Bayern, Germany)
"It is consequently a more than presentable EP that they leave us, sealing a promising beginning." (Muzzart, France)
"Interestingly, then, the somber underlying mood is counterbalanced by a certain poppy lightness. An intriguing contradiction that seems to run through Elvis de Sade's entire oeuvre." (Sonic Seducer, Germany)
"The four piece project balances between pop and dance notes, that they beautifully adopt in their dark wave and post-punk compositions." (ElektroSpank, Greece)
"You can expect warm synths, clear wave-guitar, entraining lyrics and rhythms, all this coordinated with each other should actually conjure up a blissful smile on the lips of everyone interested." (Spontis, Germany)
"Behind the collage of samples, noise, technoid beats and transfigured melancholic pop melodies there is a lot of substance. Whoever subscribes to the existentialist basic attitude of Dark Wave, perhaps can't help it. And whoever mixes Elvis with Marquis de Sade is suspected of doing it in an interesting way anyway." (mucbook, Germany)
"Illustrative of the band’s equal part powerful, yet atmospheric dark coldwave sound, 'Sorrows Vanish These Nights' uncoils sparkling crystalline guitar strings that twinkle perilously amid hypnotic tapping and stomping snare beats, chugging between the eerie chime of bright icy notes and warm sinister synth sways, while menacing bassline creeps and oscillates around the grave, hesitant male vocals quivering in fearful, heartfelt recollections encompassed in a commemorative speech discussing 'the gift of Love.'" (WhiteLight//WhiteHeat, USA)
"'Angelus Novus' exposes the core of the post-punk movement in its early days again, but also takes advantage of later musical developments. In the end, it's tracks like 'Sorrows Vanish These Nights' and 'Mirror Reflection' that make you want to hear more of Elvis De Sade." (Unter.Ton, Germany)

Super happy about this accidental finding (while searching articles about Rue Oberkampf) and Bragolin's two albums were insta-buys. A mix of the beloved known in fresh new clothes and the unknown original, making their music intriguing, hypnotic and oh so catchy. Very convincing stuff. thst

Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
♠️Woaw... again some good eighties goth dark reminiscence. Dancing drums bring joy to the darkest side. And Darkwave is still alive. Thanks "FoReVeR" 🌹 Jack music Life
